How to Create Quizzes in Google Forms


1. Open your Gmail account.

2. Visit Google Drive.

3. Click “New”.

4. Hover over “More”. Then, click on “Google Forms” and then select “From Template”.

5. Go to Education column and click on “Blank Quiz”.

6. You can type the name of the chapter where “Blank Quiz” is written and the instructions for the
Quiz where Form Description is given.

7. There are several options available regarding the type of questions which can be given for the quiz-
MCQ, Short answer question etc.

8. Add the question in the untitled question space and type the options which you want to give. To give more options , click on “add other” written below.

9. Next you will find “Answer key” written in the box. After you click on it, choose the correct answer so that it is recorded and on the right side enter the points which you want to keep per question.

9. Next, click on “Add answer feedback”. There are two columns given there- Incorrect answers and
Correct answers. You can type the responses (eg. Well done, Very Good, It’s the wrong answer etc.)
here which the students will get after they have submitted their response. Along with the responses,
you can also give the explanation as to why it is the correct answer.

11. Next click on SAVE.

12. Next, click on the encircled + sign which you will see on the right side of the box to add the next
question.

14. After creating the quiz, go to settings (besides Send button).

Here, In the GENERAL window tick the column “collect email response.” You can also tick response
receipts so that the students know about his/her mistakes.

Where, “Requires Sign In” is written you may tick “Limit to 1 response” if you don’t want the students to get another chance by logging inagain for changing their answer. (Useful when you want the students to take the test)

In settings option, under “Quizzes” select- Immediately after each submission, for releasing grades to
students just after the test.
